KATHMANDU, August 3: Local administrations in the Kathmandu Valley have extended the ongoing prohibitory orders by a week.

The district administration offices in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have jointly announced to extend the lockdown till August 11 midnight. The ongoing prohibitory orders were set to expire on midnight tomorrow (July 4)

The three local administrations have also decided to strictly implement the prohibitory measures enforced already in the Kathmandu Valley and punish those not following safety protocols, especially those not wearing masks in public.

According to Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Kali Prasad Parajuli, other prohibitory orders are the same for now. The local administration will decide whether to further tighten the ongoing lockdown after carefully reviewing the situation of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.
