BHOJPUR, May 24: A former MP of Bhojpur, Narendra Basnet has passed away after suffering from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. According to his relatives, Basnet was pronounced dead at 3 AM Monday.
Narendra Basnet was elected from Bhojpur-1 in the 2048 BS parliamentary election by the CPN-UML.

Basnet was also former president of Shadananda Sitaram Guthi in Dingla, Bhojpur and former principal of Arun Secondary School. He had been living in Khorsane of Morang and was active in various works with social organizations. Basnet is survived by his wife and two sons.
