10-year-old child drowns in a stream in Dang

DANG, May 18: A child drowned in a stream while taking a bath in Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-17, Dang on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Basanta Bohara, 10,  who was taking a bath in the local Hapurkhola.

According to DSP Pushpa Raj Malla, he was found unconscious there and rushed to the Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur. He died during treatment.

This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and awareness campaigns to address the increasing frequency of drowning in Nepal.
