CHITWAN, Aug 12: At least 10 people were injured when a bus and a truck collided with each other at Pampha Bridge of Rapti Municipality-5, Chitwan, along the East-West Highway.


The accident occurred this morning when a bus (Bagmati Pra 01-006 Kha 4799) en route to Dharan from Kathmandu and a truck (Na 6 Kha 5927) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other.

Bhesh Raj Rijal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Chitwan, said that the condition of seven individuals is moderate, while the condition of three is normal. Among the injured, four individuals are undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur, and six are receiving treatment at Alive Hospital and Trauma Center, Bharatpur.


Furthermore, police have impounded both vehicles and arrested the bus driver Santosh Kumar Yadav, 40, of Tirhut Rural Municipality-2, Saptari, and the truck driver Nir Kumar Pradhan, 35, of Sangtar Rural Municipality-2, Ramechhap.
