CHITWAN, Oct 23: One person died and two others were injured when two trucks collided with an oil tanker in Chitwan. The accident occurred at around 11:20 PM on Tuesday in the Tikauli jungle area of Ratnanagar Municipality-9 along the East-West Highway.
A cargo truck with the registration number Madhesh Province 03-002 Kha 1439, coming from Tandi towards Narayanghat, collided with an empty tanker with the registration number Na 8 Kha 8674, which was heading from Narayanghat to Tandi. Additionally, another truck with the registration number Na 6 Kha 4624 also crashed into the back of the tanker, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Anish Syangtan, 26, a resident of Makwanpur Gadhi Rural Municipality-2, died at 11:55 PM following the accident, according to DSP Bhesh Raj Rijal, spokesperson for the Chitwan District Police Office. The body of the deceased has been kept at Bharatpur Hospital.
The co-driver of the truck, Ashish Syangtan, 23, a resident of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-2 in Makwanpur, is receiving treatment for moderate injuries at Bharatpur Hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the tanker, Sudeep Tamang, 36, from Newarpani, Hetauda-19, is in serious condition and is undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
Dipak Rokka, 37, the driver of the other truck (Na 6 Kha 4624), has been taken into custody for further investigation. He is a resident of Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading.
