ITAHARI, Feb 24: A victim among those critically injured in the gas cylinder explosion has succumbed to his injures.


According to police, Somraj Madhi of Katahari, Morang breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar.


Seven people were injured, three critically, after a gas cylinder used for filling balloons suddenly exploded in Sunsari district at 11 am today.

The incident occurred when the devotees were taking part in the fair at Shiva Mandir in Simariya-9 on the occasion of Mahashivaratri.


Tara Mandal, 32, of Sundar Dulari, Somraj Majhi of Katahari, Morang and another boy, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, had been injured,  according to SP Poshraj Pokharel of District Police Office, Sunsari.


Those sustaining minor injuries are undergoing treatment at a local health center.


 The critically injured were admitted to Nobel Hospital, Biratnagar.


Meanwhile, police have taken Bagwan Sah for selling gas-filled ballons under control.
