'Traces' is a printmaking exhibition that showcases a variety of works created by the students of Batch 2017, Kathmandu University, School of Arts, Department of Art and Design. The intensive printmaking course that led to this exhibition was completed under the mentorship of Kabi Raj Lama, printmaker and a visual artist.

The exhibition kicked off on May 24 at Park Gallery, Pulchowk. According to a press statement released by Park Gallery, each print displayed is an example of how individual students narrate their perspectives, ideas, interests, culture, and experiences.

It added that in the process of printmaking, students experienced rigorous learning about printmaking and the ability to reflect on the subject they are keen to explore. Printmaking is an artistic process that demands precision work, diligence and patience until the print comes off. The students got to relish the irreversible marks made with each stroke; the scraping sound through the carving tools on the woodblock which imprinted a sense of endeavor in their work as per the press statement. It is the moment of surprise when the hard work and heart are put together in the form of prints that traces the subject.

The exhibition continues till May 29.
