Police to present KMG Chairman Sirohiya in court today, seek custody extension

JANAKPURDHAM, May 24: Kailash Sirohiya, the chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), currently in the custody of Dhanusha police for a citizenship-related offense case, is scheduled to be presented in the Dhanusha District Court today.

Dhanusha police spokesman and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjan Awa stated that following the expiration of the initial three-day custody period on Wednesday, Sirohiya will be presented before the bench of Dhanusha District Court Judge Churamani Khadka for a possible extension today.

DSP Awa further explained that due to the ongoing investigation, Sirohiya will be presented to the court for an extension of his judicial custody.

"The initial three-day period granted by the court expires today, necessitating our submission for another extension," he clarified.

On Wednesday, advocates Binod Sharma, Raman Karna, Nawal Kishor Lal, and Kishore Paudel represented Sirohiya, and today it is anticipated that additional legal representatives from Kathmandu will arrive in Janakpur to argue on his behalf.
