Two theatre artists were penalized as ‘Shukrabar’ weekly newspaper unfolded the scandal of sexual harassment over women theatre artists. Mandala Theatre has relieved Rajan Khatiwada from secretary post for a year while One World Theatre also expelled Rajkumar Pudasani from his current post as a co-director.

Besides, Khatiwada and Pudasani, the weekly newspaper reported allegation from women theatre artists against the legendary theatre artist—Sunil Pokharel.  However, Pokharel has denied the allegation. Talking to  Shukrabar, Pokharel refused his involvement in the scandal.  

Anu Dahal—a theater artist openly shared cases of sexual harassment against Pudasani.  However, women who alleged sexual harassment against Pokharel and Khatiwada did not reveal their names.

Khatiwada, earlier gave a statement of not remembering the incidents and also had apologized on Facebook on Thursday.  Khatiwada claimed that the incident happened some seven years back, and he still cannot recall it vividly.

Releasing the notice on Facebook, Mandala Theatre informed that Khatiwada was introspected about the incident and accepted his resignation from the post of secretary to create an environment for a fair probe.

Likewise, One World Theatre Nepal stated on Facebook that they expelled Pudasani from his post till he takes necessary measures in improving his character. However, the notice indicated that he will only feature in the production of theatre as an actor under the surveillance of experienced director.
