The National News Agency (RSS), having nationwide network, is the largest and longest serving news agency in Nepal. It was established in 2018 BS under the Rastriya Samachar Samiti Act, 2019 BS, merging two privately owned news agencies with a view to facilitating newspapers and broadcast media.

KATHMANDU, March 12: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided not to join the current ruling coalition.
A meeting of the central work execution committee of the party that concluded at its central office in Dhumbarahi on Monday decided to vote against the government and stay in the opposition, said central member Sundar Pandey.
The meeting which was held since Saturday also decided not to participate in the provincial governments as well for the moment and if there is a situation where the party's support is needed a decision will be taken in consultation with the relevant province unit at the appropriate time.
Furthermore, the party has decided to participate in the by-elections to the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly to be held on April 27 in Ilam and Bajhang, respectively. The party president in the respective province will coordinate with the president of the respective district to recommend the candidates for the two elections.
