PM leaves top leaders, task force meeting

KATHMANDU, June 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left the joint meeting between top leaders of major political parties and task force members on Tuesday evening. The prime minister left the parliament building without commenting to reporters.

Nepali Congress (NC) Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the PM told the meeting that the World Bank should be asked and the work plan should be revised to provide Rs 200,000 to earthquake victims in a lump sum.

Top leaders of major political parties held discussions after Nepali Congress (NC) continued to obstruct the Legislature-Parliament demanding to dole out the amount to quake victims.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal are still present at the meeting underway at the parliament building.

Major parties yesterday had formed a seven-member task force to resolve the issue after NC remained adamant on obstructing the House.

The main opposition party has been obstructing the parliament since Friday to pres the government to address its demand.
