KATHMANDU, June 20: The Bagmati Province Assembly's session on Thursday was disrupted by protests from opposition parties, who demanded revisions to the province’s budget for the next fiscal year.
Members of the Nepali Congress and Rastriya Prajatantra Party criticized the budget, highlighting concerns about its lack of balance and discrepancies in the income and expenditure details.
Despite repeated calls for order from Provincial Assembly Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, opposition MPs continued to raise slogans such as ‘rewrite the budget,’ ‘ensure budget balance,’ ‘promote inclusive budgeting,’ and ‘eliminate financial discrepancies from the budget.’
