Since 2017, Nepal began its journey to Miss Universe beauty pageant that continued for three consecutive years. However, this year Nepal won’t be participating in Miss Universe.
In a press meet organized by The Hidden Treasure (THT) at Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg on Monday, THT’s Director Subarna Chhetri disclosed that officials from Miss Universe pageant has not renewed THT’s contract, so Nepal could not compete in Miss Universe.
He added, “It has just been two or three days that we received an email from Miss Universe pageant saying that they won’t extend our contract this year. When we asked about the extension of the contract, they replied that there was not any particular reason. And they also told us, this year they will be giving the contract to other countries, however, the door is not closed. They added that it’s always open, and they’d give it to us in the future.”
Meanwhile, THT announced the formal opening of the application form for The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal Pageant-2020. The deadline for submission of the form is March 27.
It was informed that audition in eight different cities — Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, Butwal, Pokhara, Chitwan, Birgunj, Dharan and Birtamode — will be conducted between March 8-24. The final audition will take place in Kathmandu on March 28.
