KATHMANDU, July 1: The Nepali Congress has demanded that the government take immediate measures to rescue the families affected by the flood and landslide triggered by incessant rains in different places of the country and provide them with relief assistance.
The NC stated that it calls for searching for and rescuing people who are said to be missing or stranded in floods and landslides caused by the incessant rains since past few days in different places of the country including Dhading, Gorkha, Dolakha as well as distribution of relief to them.
Party's Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel made this call issuing a press release today.
The press release states that the party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed profound sorrow over the damage caused by the flood and landslides and instructed the party's local units and its sister organisations and well-wisher organisations for rescuing the affected families and providing them with relief assistance.
