Manoj Gajurel starts in his debut film
KATHMANDU, April 18: Popular standup comedian Manoj Gajurel is set to mark his talent in Silver screen. Shooting of his debut movie ‘Saikada Dash’ was inaugurated on Monday where he played as the lead actor.
Actor Raja Ram Poudel welcomed him to the film industry when the first scene of the movie was shot at Nayabasti in Boudha.
“I was waiting for the perfect time for my debut movie,” Gajurel said. “I belonged to comedy genre and I believed a movie should carry social responsibility. I chose Saikada which has amalgamation of these two features.”
Actor Poudel praised acting of Gajurel and expressed his belief that he will emerge as a great actor from the movie. In ‘Saikada Dash’, Poudel and Gajurel will play as in laws.
Ramsharan Pathak who is also director of Thegana and Prem Geet, is set to direct the social and comedy drama movie. According to him the movie revolves around a theme advocating moral values. “We in the movie are trying to depict interrelation of love and corruption and its outcome.”
The movie starring ‘Sayed 2’ actor Amrit Dhugana, debut girl Karuna Shrestha incuding Ravi Dangol, Rashmi Bhatt, Utsav Neupane, Amir Pokharel, Soniya Rai, Kumar Karki, Prashidda Thapa and Manasbi Niraula.
The film has cinematography of Rameshwar Karki, editing of Banish Shah, dance choreography of Dilip Okheda and music by Kalyan Singh while YouTube star singer Swoopna Suman, Trishala Gurung and Sandesh Pathak are in playback singing team.
Rajju Pradhan and Uttam Khatri are producing the movie under the Creation Pvt banner. Director Pathak said shooting of movie may take around one month which will take place in and around Kathmandu and Pokhara.
