Joseph Quinn Gets Emotional After Fan Reveals How Much Everyone Loves His Stranger Things Character

Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn became incredibly emotional after a fan expressed how much she loved his work.

Joseph Quinn is no doubt one of this year’s biggest breakout stars after portraying the non-conformist metalhead Eddie Munson in the popular Netflix show.

Coming in hot with his rock star mullet, epic electric guitar skills, and a brash attitude to match, what’s not to love?

But Quinn got to see just how much he's loved during an appearance at Showmasters Comic Con in the UK.

The actor was visibly shaken when a fan admitted she had ‘travelled far’ to see him because his character resonated with her and so many others.

The unknown woman, who had met Quinn a day prior, also thanked him for being so ‘nice’ to her, at which point, the 28-year-old became visibly moved and shedded a few tears.

The video has received more than 430,000 views on Twitter, sending users into a frenzy over the sweet encounter.

One person wrote: “I hope he now knows how much he means to this fandom.”

Another commented: “THIS MAN IS TOO WHOLESOME.”

A third person said: “I have met so many guests at cons and there’s just something different about this guy, very deserving of all the love and support he’s been receiving.”
He explained: “I didn't know for certain. I wasn't optioned for another season, so I had a suspicion that they had something planned.

"I was a little gutted 'cause I thought that if I worked hard enough they might bring me back for another season, but that didn't work."

When asked if there was a possibility that Eddie would return to The Up-Side-Down, he responded: "Yeah. There might be a little something. We'll see."

But, when The Duffer Brothers were asked the same question during an interview with, they were a bit more concrete.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Matt explained: “We sort of saw Eddie as a bit of a doomed character.”

He went on: “Even imagining the flipside of that where he does survive that final battle, there’s not a great life waiting for Eddie in the right side up either, so he was really designed from the get go as a doomed character – unlike someone like Bob [Sean Astin’s character], who was like a shock to really up the stakes.”

Ross echoed: “He was always going to be a tragic character.

“There was no other arc for him. He would have wound up in jail – this fantasy that he would have been in Milwaukee graduating sadly was never an outcome for him.”

While another fan wrote: “THE MAN IS AS PRECIOUS AS I’D HOPED.”

Quinn recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and said he was ‘gutted’ upon learning his character would be killed off while trying to save the Hawkins in a heroic battle sequence.
