Janaki (Banke), March 17: An elderly man has died in an attack by wild animal in Banke. The deceased is 71-year-old Nagendra Prasad Sharma, a resident of Darma Rural Municipality -1, Salyan district.
Sharma who was staying with his relatives at Kohalpur and Dhakeri of Banke district came under the wild animal attack near the road at Bhalu Khola, two kilometers west of Dhakeri on the East-West Highway, said Manoj Kumar Shah, the Banke National Park's senior conservation officer.
Police Inspector of the Area Police Office, Kohalpur, Devraj Bhattarai said it is presumed that Sharma was attacked by the wild animal at 5.30 AM today. The body has been sent to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for a post-mortem examination.
