E-ticketing in single theaters in the offing
Film Development Board has stepped up its work to introduce e-ticketing system in box office in single theater hall in valley. According to the press release issued by the board they also planned to merge e-ticking system operated in multiplex hall in their data hub. Brain Digit is working on to update the API technology.
President of Film Development Board Nikita Poudel said that the box office will officially implement the new system on April 23 as they have already tested the new system in Gopi Krishna Movies at Chabahil. Along with Gopi Krishna, box office system will be launched in several halls including Puspanjali at Koteshwar, Siddhartha Cinema Hall at Boudha and Prithivi at Kalanki from April 23. For that Brain Digit is also working on server installation for the same purpose.
Addressing at press meet, President Poudel said the audience who come to watch the movie in Gopi Krisna Hall will get their tickets through E-ticketing system in few days. She said the implementation of box office system will be made compulsory from new fiscal year 2075/76 BS. Similarly, the process to install servers in halls outside Kathmandu Valley has already begun and the board will also help single theaters with weak financial status in the process.
Meanwhile, some hall operators have accused Paudel of trying to implement the box office system which according to them is not practically possible to use in various parts of the country. They have also threatened to challenge the decision in the court.
However, President Poudel said that those who have stood against the new system were doing so due to lack of knowledge about the system. She stressed that all the sides including hall operators, producers, directors and actor must be more transparent when it comes to paying tax to the state.
