Dipendra Prasai, an actor and teacher at a Kathmandu-based college has been fired for taking part in a comedy show run by Kedar Prasad Ghimire ‘Magne Buda’.
Prasai had been teaching at Bagmati College located at Sukedhara for five years. Prasai portrayed the role of Yamarj, the Hindu god of death and justice, in the first episode of the show which aired on May 25.
In the episode of the show, a satire was made upon the discrepancies and anomalies of the college and education board. Prasai said, “I have been discontinued as a teacher at the college because of the allegation of bringing out the issues of my own college, despite working there as a teacher.”
