KATHMANDU, June 29: Rukmani Ghorasainee, a Canopy Nepal scholar, has been accepted into New York University Abu Dhabi's (NYUAD) September intake on a full scholarship. Her journey from Sindhupalchowk to Kathmandu, driven by the courage to dream big, has now led her to this esteemed institution.

Rukmani believes that the "unfamiliarity of new places is the cost of the opportunities they provide." When she first arrived in Kathmandu, she began her studies at Bloom Nepal School, facing a completely new environment. It was here that her path crossed with Canopy Nepal, which recognized her potential and supported her educational journey through its scholarship program.

Canopy Nepal aims to address the systemic education challenges in Nepal by providing equitable access to quality education for all learners. Their vision is an education system where every child, regardless of socio-economic, gender, or geographical background, possesses the knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking skills necessary for an independent, sustainable, and quality life.

As a Canopy scholar, Rukmani completed her schooling at Bloom Nepal School and her high school education at Capital College and Research Center (CCRC). After finishing college, she experienced a full-circle moment by teaching Mathematics at the same school where she first discovered her passion for the subject.

With a keen interest in Mathematics and Economics, Rukmani aims to specialize in these areas and achieve significant accomplishments. Her big dreams have once again set her on an unfamiliar journey, which she believes will lead to the bright future she envisions.
