All services except emergency closed at District Hospital, Baitadi, for indefinite period

BAITADI, June 6: All services except emergency have been closed at District Hospital, Baitadi, from today for an indefinite period. 
Health workers closed all services except emergency for the indefinite period protesting against the smearing soot on the face of Chief at the District Health Office, Baitadi, Dr Gunraj Awasthi, misbehaving to him on Sunday. 
Information Officer at the Hospital, Bhuwan Joshi, said that the services have been closed, citing lack of security to health workers providing services and added that the services would be closed until action was taken against the guilty. 
The health workers also chanted slogan in front of the District Administration Office today against the misbehaving. 
Relatives of a pregnant patient, Hira Bhul, 24, of Dasharathchandra Municipality-1, smeared black shoot on the face of Awasthi, blaming him for not providing ambulance after the hospital referred Bhul to Kailali for further treatment. 
Dr Awasthi said that he would go for legal process for the action against the guilty. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Baitadi, Mohan Prasad Pokharel, said that investigation into the case was underway after bringing five persons invo9lved into the incident under control.
