Miss Nepal 2009 Zenisha Moktan believes in these words and that is why she is up on her heels to make sure that she can bring smiles on the faces of people across Nepal. No, this is not any Hidden Treasure’s assignment that she has to complete; it’s all Moktan’s personal initiative.[break]
Project Muskan, Moktan’s new initiative begins today from Rasuwa.
“A smile on a face is more precious than anything else,” she smiled as she spoke of her project and added, “This is not a huge project registered by any NGOs or INGOs. Some two months back I thought of giving something to our society from my side as the reigning Miss Nepal. I couldn’t think of anything better than smiling at people and making them smile.”
Since then she has moved ahead, strong-willed to make her project a reality. To collect funds to start her project in Rasuwa, Moktan, with a few friends, distributed roses to people at Tundikhel during the Lhosar celebration a few weeks ago.
“We succeeded in collecting some thirty thousand rupees. We’re using this money to start my project from today,” Moktan explained.
Project Muskaan will travel to 14 districts across the 14 zones of Nepal, starting tomorrow from Rasuwa in Bagmati zone. During the travels, Zenisha along with her friends, will visit remote villages of Nepal and will hold interaction programs with children and youth.
“I’m planning to donate some stationery, some clothes and books to those who are needy. I’m planning to play games with the children,” she unveiled and elaborated, “Sometimes you don’t have to do anything big to show how concerned you are of the society you live in. Small efforts you make can make huge impacts. Sometimes momentary happiness is bigger than anything else. Let’s hope I’ll get to learn a lot about our society during this project and will be able to bring smiles to the faces of our people.”
“My arms are open to any organizations, wings or even individuals who wish to join me in this project,” she concluded.
