‘Zee London Mela’ launched to support Nepal quake victims

LONDON, July 25: The ‘ZEE London Mela’ was launched at the Durbar Court, Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and was attended by over 300 guests from the world of politics, media and the arts.

Guests arrived in the event to enjoy speeches from UK International Development Minister Baroness Verma, Julian Rudd, Ajay Chabbra, Prashant Kunwar and performance from Nutkhut's Imperial Court Dancers.

An auction to raise money for the victims of the Nepal Earthquake was hosted on the evening by BBC Asian Network’s resident DJ and ‘ZEE London Mela’ Ambassador Bobby Friction to share by  three charitable beneficiaries; Oxfam, The Gurkha Welfare Trust and YUMI Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

This year’s ‘ZEE London Mela’, a celebration inspired by South Asian culture, will be organized on 6th September in Gunnersbury Park. It aims to raise money for the victims of devastating Nepal earthquakes and to celebrate the bicentenary of Anglo-Nepali relation.
