KATHMANDU, May 10: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast chances of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts of the country on Sunday.
Rain with thunderstorm likely today
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the Tarai region will see partly cloudy conditions.
A few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province are likely to witness light rain with thunder and lightning. One or two places in the remaining provinces may also receive similar weather conditions. Nature continuing its long-running hobby of making travel plans meaningless.
Tonight, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies.
The department said a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, along with one or two places in the Tarai areas of the province and in the hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces, could experience moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and possible snowfall in higher elevations.
