Bhuwan Karki, 23, was found dead near Budhikhola by police Tuesday morning. Karki, a member of the CPN-UML´s Youth Association, had bullet injury in the chest.
"He had run toward Itahari saying he had been shot just after I heard sound of three gunshots in the night," Suman Chakrabarty of Dulari said. [break]
"His body was found leaning against a rickshaw in Budhikhola, Sunsari in the morning," he added.
Police estimated that he died on the way while running toward Itahari for treatment after being shot. Karki´s brother Dinesh said the deceased was taking driving lessons to go abroad and said he was puzzled by the shooting.
Police have suspected involvement of the victim´s friends in the murder. "We are interrogating the suspects and will nab the guilty very soon," said inspector at the Area Police Office, Itahari, Shyamal Subba.
