KATHMANDU, June 21: CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has extended his best wishes for the successful completion of the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which began in Chitwan on Saturday.
Expressing his message through social media, Basnet said he hoped the convention would formulate a clear policy and visionary roadmap to fulfill the people’s aspirations related to nationalism, democracy, education, health, employment and prosperity, while respecting the overwhelming public support the party had received.

He also wished success to RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s leadership in guiding the party towards a responsible, democratic and accountable path by controlling what he described as authoritarian tendencies, retaliatory politics, anarchic thinking, opportunism and populist activities that had emerged after the party reached power with a strong public mandate.
