CHITWAN, June 22: Two young men were killed in a road accident in Chitwan after a truck collided with a scooter from behind late Saturday night.
The accident occurred at around 1:40 am near Atithi Party Palace in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15, when a truck (Na 5 Kha 5816) travelling from Bharatpur towards Rampur hit a scooter (Ba Pra 06-004 Pa 7248) heading in the same direction.

The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Ashok Bhandari of Dibyanagar, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-26, and 19-year-old Rajib Gurung, originally from Lamjung and currently residing in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-20.
Bhandari, who was riding the scooter, and Gurung, who was travelling as a pillion rider, sustained critical injuries in the crash. They were rushed to hospital for treatment but were pronounced dead at around 3 am, police said.
Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody and are conducting further investigation into the incident.
