Two SSB constables injured in exchange of fire

BIRATNAGAR, June 4: Two constables of Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) were injured in exchange of fire at border outpost at bordering Indian town of Jogbani.

Indian media reported that the duo opened fire at each other over a dispute on late Tuesday night. The injured are Ashok Kumar Verma of Rajasthan and Rahul Kumar of Uttar Pradesh.


But, SSB DIG SS Thakur claimed the incident to be an accident. Soon after the incident, DIG Thakur reached the hospital to take stock of the health conditions of the injured.

Manager of the hospital Sarita Mehata informed Rahul has sustained bullet injuries in his palate, while Ashok in his chest. Preliminary Police investigation claimed that the incident happened after the gun fell suddenly.    

The Jogbani-based SSB Office said they are investigating the case.
