BANIYANI (Jhapa), June 6: Two people were killed when they were struck by lightning in Jhapa Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Khotanath Regmi of Garamani VDC-9 and Sita Rai of Shantinagar VDC-6 of the district, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa. Regmi was at his home when the lightning struck and he died while undergoing treatment at Birta City Hospital of Birtamode.

Likewise, Rai succumbed to her injuries inflicted by the abrupt discharge of electricity from the clouds, on the way to the hospital, police said. RSS
