Two Indian drug traffickers arrested

Police have arrested two Indian drug traffickers after firing shots on the inner road section of Kankai Municipality-4.

JHAPA, Feb 5: Police have arrested two Indian drug traffickers after firing shots on the inner road section of Kankai Municipality-4.


The arrested individuals are 28-year-old Anjar Alam and his 19-year-old brother Yusub Alam, both from the Digal Bank police station area in Bihar, India. The police fired shots to apprehend them, as they were transporting drugs on a motorcycle, according to Krishna Bahadur Chand, the spokesperson for the District Police Office.

The two individuals were attempting to flee when the police stopped their motorcycle, bearing the registration number BR 37 AA 8498, for a search. Police opened fire when they tried to escape.


The police fired four rounds into the air and took both individuals into custody. During the operation, Anjar Alam, the motorcycle rider, sustained a bullet wound to his knee. Authorities also found 63 milligrams of the banned drug brown sugar in their possession. Anjar is currently receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Bhadrapur for his injuries.
