Machhindra FC to face  APF FC in Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup

The second pre-quarterfinal match of the 24th Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup will be held between Machhindra Football Club and the departmental team of Armed Police Force's Nepal APF Club on Wednesday. The match will kick off at 2:30 pm at the Pokhara Stadium.

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: The second pre-quarterfinal match of the 24th Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup will be held between Machhindra Football Club and the departmental team of Armed Police Force's Nepal APF Club on Wednesday. The match will kick off at 2:30 pm at the Pokhara Stadium.


Machhindra, which has not yet won the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup despite having famous players in the team, will aim for a victorious start in this tournament. These two teams also competed in the President's Cup football held in Kathmandu a few days ago, where Machhindra won 1-0 and advanced to the semifinals. In that match, Sanish Shrestha of Machhindra scored the winning goal. Shrestha was also honored with the Sahara Best Player Award at the opening of this year’s edition of the Gold Cup.

Machhindra, captained by goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha, has players including  Manish Dangi, Ayush Ghalan, Sanish Shrestha, Bimal Gharti Magar, Devendra Tamang, and Tshering Gurung.


On the other hand, Mani Kumar Lama, who has played for the national team in APF, is the main player.
