A specials police unit deployed by the DPO arrested Ram Narayan Yadav of Khuttapiradi-2, who has been convicted of murdering Jay Narayan Yadav, 42, of Khuttapiradi-9.
Ram Narayan had shot dead Jay Narayan on Jan 31, 2009 while he was sleeping at his home. Jay's family had filed a case against Ram at the DPO soon after the incident.
However, the police had been unable to arrest him for a long time. “Ram was on the run since we started investigation,” said SP Janak Bhattaarai. “He had been on our 'most wanted' list ever since the incident,” he added.
Likewise, the police also arrested Chandeswar Shah Sudi of Gaushala -6. Sudi was convicted of fraudulent act which he had committed about nine years ago.
The court had handed him a jail term of three years and also fined him Rs 3,000.
“Both the criminals are currently in our custody. We are also carrying out necessary investigations related to their cases,” added SP Bhattarai.
