MAHOTTARI, Aug 18: Police have arrested two people for illegally demanding money from Gaffar Rain of Jaleswar Municipality-5.
Santulal Prasad Jaiswar, spokesperson and deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of the District Police Office said that the arrested individuals have been identified as Sunil Kumar Rawat, 24, and Karan Mandal, 19 - both originally hailing from Ram Gopalpur Municipality-5 and currently living in Jaleswar.

For a few days, the accused had been threatening him and demanding Rs 92,000 in cash through written letters. Following this, Gaffar had reported the matter to the police.
Based on the same information, police arrested both of the accused from the Mahadev Temple located in Jaleswar-1 on Saturday.
Police said that further investigation into the matter is underway.
