Tourism sector will be restored in 3 years: Minister Sherpa

KATHMANDU, May 25: Newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Avian Kripasur Sherpa said she is working out a master plan to restore the tourism sector to its previous condition.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters Club Nepal in the capital on Monday, Minister Sherpa claimed that he will revive the tourism sector to its earlier position in the next 2 to 3 years.


He further said the restoration of the tourism industries will be carried out by roping in national and international experts.

The mountaineers who have already paid royalty but have not scaled the mountains due to earthquake this year will be allowed to do so at the same rate next year, informed Sherpa, adding "the soft loan will been arranged to revive the tourism sector."

He further said that the government will launch programs like 'Visit Nepal' to attract more foreigners in the coming days, stressing for reconstruction of devastated hotels and paths to tourism destinations.
