Three Star extended the co-sponsorship deal with Western Union Money Transfer for the fifth year and with Leon Motors Private Limited, authorized dealer of Mitsubishi Motors, for the second year in a row. The deals with be valid until August 2013. [break]
Three Star will get Rs 1 million from Western Union, which is the highest amount committed so far by a co-sponsor to any football club of Nepal. The other co-sponsor Leon Motors has pledged Rs 300,000. The previous highest co-sponsorship deal, amounting to Rs 800,000, was signed between Yeti Airlines Himalayan Sherpa Club and Islington College.
Senior Country Manager of Western Union Atish Krishna Shrestha, Executive Chairman of Leon Motors Ashis Shrestha and Three Star President Lalit Krishna Shrestha inked the deal on behalf of their respective institutions.
A few weeks earlier, Mega Bank, the chief sponsor of the club had ended its tie with the Three Star Club. Speaking on the occasion, Three Star President Shrestha said that the club was in talks with few institutions that have shown interest to be the club´s chief sponsor. "We are in talks with some corporate houses for the main sponsor and it will be finalized soon," said Shrestha.

According to Shrestha, the annual budget of the club was Rs 12.5 million. He thanked the co-sponsors for their continuous support. "We hope to meet the budget of the club through sponsorship amount, individual support, membership fees and others," informed Shrestha.
The Executive Chairman of Leon Motors Ashis Shrestha vowed to extend the sponsorship to the next year with additional fund.
Kiran Chemjong the skipper of the club opined that sponsorship was vital for club and the players and it will motivate them to play better in next match.
Three Star was held to a draw by Iceberg Madhyapur Youth Association in its first match of the Ncell Cup under way at the Dasharath Stadium. It is scheduled to play against NIBL Friends Club.
Meanwhile, co-sponsors handed new jersey of the club that includes the logos of Western Union and Leon Motors to the skipper Chemjong.
