BUTWAL, Oct 29: Three people were killed and four others sustained serious injuries after a passenger electric vehicle (EV) met with an accident in Rupandehi district on Tuesday night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ganesh Sapkota, spokesperson at the Rupandehi District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as Khumbahadur Acharya, 45, of Sainamaina-8 Bansgadhi; Jitendra Thapa, 43, of Kanchan Rural Municipality-5; and Khem BK, 42.

The injured driver Bikram Shrestha, 35, his 10-year-old son Samir Shrestha, Sonu Chaudhary, 32, and Ashok Thapa, 39, were rushed to Pipara Hospital in Kapilvastu and later referred to Butwal for further treatment due to head injuries.
Police said the EV (Bagmati Province 01-006 Kha 7782), heading towards Rudrapur, went out of control at around 10:30 pm, struck a roadside tree, and fell about three meters down.
The vehicle has been taken under police control, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
