The deceased have been identified as ambulance driver Suresh BK, 30 of Tekan tole, Chandrapur Municipality-1, new mother Hasibun Khatun, 22 of Sakhuwa Dhamaura VDC and Khatun's newly born infant.The accident took place after a truck, Na 2 Kha 9698 and an ambulance, Ja 1 Cha 343 collided head-on at Chandrapur Municipality -13 of Padariyachowk.
BK and infant died on the spot while Khatun took her last breath while undergoing treatment at Birjung-based National Medical College, informed police.
Likewise, ambulance's assistant driver, Samundra BK, Sachid Sai Dhaniya, 50, Khatun's father in law and sister in law Ruksana Khatun were seriously injured in the incident. DSP Sanubabu Thapaliya informed that they are undertaking serious investigation in the case and searching for absconded truck driver.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at government hospital for postmortem.
Similarly, a dead body of Pramod Paswan, 20, has been found at Mango farm located at Jatahara VDC-8 of the district.
