Thames defeated Universal College by 12 runs in the first quarterfinal held at the Army School Ground, Bhaktapur. Likewise, Campion edged past KIST College by 11 runs in the second match of the day.[break]
Universal College won the toss and invited Thames to bat first. Bibhav Raj Joshi scored 52 runs off 50 balls and Ayush Jung Rana added 32 runs off 24 balls to guide Thames to 142/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Nikunj Parek claimed three wickets for Universal while Rupesh Chalise took two.
Chasing 143 runs for victory, Universal could reach only 130/8 in 20 overs. Man-of-the-match Ayush Jung Rana claimed three wickets for Thames.
In the second quarterfinal, Campion elected to bat and put up 133/6 in 20 overs as Aman Agrawal scored 46 runs off 42 balls and Bikash Jha clobbered an unbeaten 21 runs off 19 balls. Bibek Adhikari took three wickets for KIST while Puruskar Shah claimed two.
Chasing the modest 134-run target, KIST could reach only 122/8 in 20 overs. Puruskar Shah and Bibek Adhikari scored 35 runs each but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
Aman Agrawal was adjudged the man of the match for his batting performance.
