Police have used water cannons to disperse the crowd after protesting teachers attempted to break through a restricted area and move towards the parliament building.

KATHMANDU, April 27: Police have used water cannons to disperse the crowd after protesting teachers attempted to break through a restricted area and move towards the parliament building.


In response, the teachers threw stones at the police, leading to heightened tensions in the New Baneshwor area.

During the ongoing 26-day protest led by the Nepal Teachers' Association (NTA), the police used force to disperse the crowd. The protest, demanding changes to the Education Act, has made the situation tense, with teachers gathering at Maitighar to demonstrate.
