LIVERPOOL, England, Jan 25: Francesco Guidolin enjoyed a winning start as Swansea head coach on Sunday when the Welsh club won 2-1 at Everton in the Premier League.

The Italian watched Monday's win over Watford from the stands but he was in full control as Swansea beat Everton for the first time in their 22 league meetings.

A sluggish Everton gifted Swansea the opener when John Stones' woeful backpass led to Gylfi Sigurdsson's penalty in the 17th minute.

Jack Cork's own goal nine minutes later drew Everton level but Andre Ayew restored Swansea's lead in the 34th.

Roberto Martinez's side has now conceded 22 goals in 12 home games, three more than anyone else.

The result lifted Swansea four points clear of the relegation zone and only four points behind Everton, in 12th.
