“All the people should raise voice from the streets to prevent bloodshed in the country,” said Dr Bhattarai while speaking at a seminar on information technology in Kathmandu on Thursday. He said the 10-year “People´s War” and the 19-day mass movement uprooted the monarchy but “new kings without crown” have raised their heads and are pushing the country toward regression. He said the new government is overturning the achievements of the people. “Let´s raise our voice against regression once again,” he said.
Commenting on the status of information technology in Nepal, Dr Bhattarai said that the country needs socio-political change for the technology to flourish. He also said the development in the field of transportation and communication was sped by those seeking profits and argued that the technology should now be used for revolutionary causes. He said the technology has come into the hands of the masses and should be used for the cause of social change.
