KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Shahid Ganga Lal Foundation Nepal (SGLF) is set to host Creative Horizon: A Tribute to Martyrs on January 29 at the Russian House in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu. This annual event honors the sacrifices and contributions of Nepal’s martyrs in the fight for democracy and freedom.
According to a press release issued by the organizers, as part of the program, students from schools across the Kathmandu Valley will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity through various competitions in art, essays, poems, and speeches. Last year’s theme, "Rich Culture and Heritage of Nepal," saw participation from over 100 students representing more than 15 schools, highlighting the country’s cultural heritage.

This year, the event will feature a range of activities, including the theatrical play Resilience Unveiled, which will depict the life and sacrifices of Shahid Ganga Lal Shrestha. Additionally, the Colors of Resilience art exhibition will showcase the top 10 students’ artworks from recent competitions. The program will also include a winners' felicitation ceremony to honor those who excelled in the essay, speech, art, and poetry contests. Furthermore, the Stories of Change journal will be launched to celebrate creativity and the preservation of Nepal’s cultural values, the press release stated.
Through this initiative, SGLF aims to inspire patriotism, foster cultural awareness, and empower the youth of Nepal while at the same time ensuring that the enduring legacy of the country’s martyrs remain intact. In collaboration with the Kathmandu Metropolitan Office, the event seeks to expand its reach, bringing together educators, policymakers, community leaders, and students in a shared celebration of resilience and unity.
