Officials of Him Electronics that represent Samsung home appliances in Nepal hope the new range of washing machines will be popular among Nepali people. “These models save up to 40 percent energy and 30 percent water compared to other washing machines available in the market,” said Binay Tripathi, deputy general manager of Him Electronics. He is optimistic that the new models will strengthen Samsung presence in the market and also help increase market share.
“Washing machines are becoming popular in Nepal because people are becoming career oriented and hence do not have much time for household works. These machines relieve them from the tedious job of washing clothes,” he added.
Tripathi said these washing machines have washer´s delay end feature through which users can set washing time even during power cuts. “The washing machines will start automatically when power supply resumes and stop when washing is complete,” he added.
The new models use diamond drum that help reduce fabric damage. Similarly, it is equipped with wobble technology that ensures flow of water from all directions.
Besides these features, the front loading machines come with echo bubble technology that generates bubbles by dissolving detergent with air and water before the normal cycle begins. This means detergent can reach deep into fabric 40 times faster compared to other machines.
The new models also has a special sari course feature that help wash saris in a convenient manners. “Samsung has added this feature specially targeting the South Asian market because sari is a popular apparel of women in the region,” added Tripathi.
