KATHMANDU, March 28: The transportation in the Kathmandu Valley is expected to be affected due to separate rallies, protests, and gatherings organized by republican and pro-monarchy groups on Friday.
The republican supporters, led by the four-party Socialist Front Nepal, are to hold a gathering at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu, while anti-establishment royalists are set to stage a show of strength followed by a mass meeting at Tinkune. Prior to that, they are planning to hold rallies from various locations across the valley.
Although the traffic police have discussed alternative traffic management plans, they have not been made public yet. Traffic routes may be altered in areas such as Chakrapath and Koteshwor.
