Speaking to Republica at his office after assuming his duties on Friday, Rana said resource crunch and the political transition in the country was a major challenge to curb crime in effective manner. [break]
“We can´t compromise with peace and security despite resource crunch and political transition so my journey begins reforming existing system,” he said.
“I need to focus on the stalled process on promotion and career developments of police officers by following scientific, transparent system and rules based on laws,” he said. The security issues regarding probable upcoming election can be another tough challenge but we are sure to manage it well, he said.
“We also face the a challenge to discourage the tendency to fulfill the demands from the street protest neglecting the laws,” he said. IGP Rana also assured to bring some changes at earliest to address the livelihood of the common people with the help of collective feeling and working style.
“I am sure people throughout the country will feel peace and security,” he claimed.
