Shrestha said the report is but a rumor at a press conference organized at the UCPN (Maoist) Parliamentary Party office in Singha Durbar.
According to him, there are no disputes over demarcation of provinces 1, 2 and 3 and parties are discussing to address demands put forward by Karnali and Tharu-majority regions of Kailali district.
“Parties have not even discussed on reshaping development regions into provinces as being reported,” he said.
He was of the opinion that secularism should continue in the new constitution and the act of forceful conversion of religion should be punishable by law.
