KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Coordinator of the Nepal Gen-Z Front Rakshya Bam has demanded the dismissal of Prime Minister Sushila Karki’s Chief Personal Secretary Adarsh Kumar Shrestha.
Taking to Facebook on Sunday evening, Bam made the demand after reports surfaced that Shrestha had facilitated the appointment of his wife and other relatives to positions within the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Bam has also called for the immediate cancellation of the appointments given to members of Shrestha’s family and relatives.

Bam said the Gen-Z movement is not only against financial corruption but equally against moral corruption, nepotism and favoritism. She argued that Shrestha, the Chief Personal Secretary to the prime minister of a citizens’ government, had embraced nepotism and favoritism by securing jobs for his wife and other relatives on the strength of the Gen-Z movement, calling it fundamentally wrong.
“On September 8, we raised our voice for good governance, transparency, and accountability. But the Chief Personal Secretary of the citizens’ government has engaged in moral corruption by embracing nepotism and favoritism—and using the momentum of the Gen-Z movement to secure jobs for his wife and other relatives. This is outright wrong.”
She said that at a sensitive time when the citizens’ government was formed to provide a democratic way out for the country and is now facing attacks from all sides, individuals like Shrestha—who seek to exploit the situation and promote nepotism and favoritism—are disrespecting the blood shed for change.
