As a part of the celebration of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, the followers of Christianity are organizing Christmas masses in various churches across the country, wishing for the welfare of entire Nepali people. [break]
Following the declaration of secular state after the people´s movement-2006, the Nepali Christian community is found offering prayers in churches in an open manner.
On the occasion, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has extended best wishes to all the Nepali Christian brothers and sisters at home and outside the country for the peace, prosperity and happiness.
In a message of best wishes given today, the President said human beings in every corner of the world have the feeling of getting gratification by showing good conducts and service to others in accordance with their respective religious faith and expressed the hope that the notion of service and devotion of the Christians has also contributed to enhancing peace, good will and brotherhood.
Expressing belief that the Day will help promote the feeling of goodwill and unity among entire Nepali people, the President wished that we all will get inspiration to build a peaceful, prosperous and developed Nepal.
Likewise, Vice-President Parmananda Jha has expressed best wishes of great festival Christmas to all the Nepali Christians residing in and outside the country.
Through a greetings message, the Vice-President said national consensus was the need of the hour and wished that the festival would encourage all Nepalis to move ahead on the path of peace and prosperity by uniting all.
Likewise, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has expressed best wishes to all the Christian followers in and outside the country on the occasion of Christmas, the source of faith and inspiration to the entire Christian community.
In a message today, the Prime Minister said that the festival having unique identity and would help promote brotherhood and good will and religious harmony in the country.
On the occasion of Christmas, the Prime Minister has expressed wishes for peace and prosperity of all Nepalis Christians.
Likewise, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel have also expressed wishes to all Christian community people in Nepal and in the world on the occasion of Christmas 2012 and New Year-2013.
The Nepal government has given public holiday on the Christmas Day.
