President Paudel saddened over plane crash in India

KATHMANDU, June 12: President Ramchandra Paudel has expressed deep grief over the tragic plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad, India on Thursday.


Taking to social media platform X, the Head of State extended heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives in the devastating incident and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

The Air India flight AI-171, en route to London from Ahmedabad, crashed just two minutes after takeoff at 1:38 PM Indian time. The aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 242 people on board—including 230 adult passengers, two infants, and ten crew members—reportedly failed to gain altitude and went down in a densely populated area, sparking a massive rescue operation.
