Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel informed that most leaders participating in the discussion emphasized that the elections should be conducted on the announced date.
Although the CPN-UML expressed doubts about the government’s efficiency it did not oppose the idea of holding elections. UML representatives questioned whether the current government can ensure free and peaceful elections.
The meeting that began some three hours ago is still underway. Minister Kharel said that a conclusion will be reached once representatives of all parties present their views.
